Player breaks small-college scoring mark
Player breaks small-college scoring mark - An "experiment" helps Grinnell's Griffin Lentsch to the third-biggest diversion at any level of college jewels. Grinnell College star shatters partition III record with 89 points. as a substitute of commemorating his historic 89-point scoring barrage by heading to ceremonial dinner with his relatives or manufacture a successful entrance at a college grounds party, Grinnell College's Griffin Lentsch admits his gala was more muted.

"I came back house I laid down on my double bed, and I was similar to, 'There's no way I'm receiving out of bed tonight,'" Lentsch said Monday. "I was too exhausted."

Lentsch earned that extra rest following Saturday's 145-97 victory at Principia College with a presentation unlikely to be coordinated by any team member at any level of college basketball this time of year.

Whereas Division III Grinnell typically has 12 to 15 players log more or less 10 to 15 minutes a match to carry on them fresh enough to thrive in the team's zany, frenetic, up-tempo system, Lentsch played a grueling 36 minutes on Saturday. He sank 27 of 55 shots, buried 15 3-pointers and made 20 of 22 free throws, eclipsing his preceding career high of 36 points by halftime.

Neither Gesik nor secure unit officials can show her ex-husband is sending her the messages, which feature photos of him wearing his prison blues and dark sunglasses, arms crossed as he poses in front of a prison gate. It doesn't matter if he's transport them or an important person else is — the Newport, Ore., woman is afraid and, as the days tick down to his January release, is attitude in mind going into hiding with her 12-year-old daughter.

"It's just being wronged every part  over once more," she said.

Across the U.S. and beyond, inmates are using social networks and the increasing numbers of smartp hones smuggled into prisons and jails to harass their wounded or accusers and intimidate witnesses. California corrections officials who monitor social networking sites said they have bring into being many instances in which inmates taunted wounded or made superfluous sexual advances.

Like Gesik's case, it's over and over again difficult for authorities to conclude for sure who's sending the threatening material and the few people caught rarely face serious consequences.

"The ability to have these kinds of contacts is increasing exponentially. In many habits, the law has not caught up with these change technologies," said Rob Bovett, an Oregon district lawyer whose office prosecuted Gesik's ex-husband, Michael Gladney.

Murray's regret about Jackson's death

 Murray's regret about Jackson's death

Murray's regret about Jackson's death: Murray's regret about Jackson's death Murray's regret about Jackson's death - Jackson doctor defends self in NBC interview. Michael Jackson's doctor, who refused to testify at his trial, said in an interview broadcast Thursday that the singer lied to him about his medical history and never revealed he had an addiction problem.

"I would hate to put blame on Michael as an individual," Dr. Conrad Murray told the "Today" show in the interview done days before the doctor's conviction.

"I only wish maybe in our dealings with each other he would have been more forthcoming and honest.to tell me these things about himself," he said.

Interviewer Savannah Guthrie asked: "Do you think he lied to you?"

"Definitely," Murray said.

"About what?" she asked.

"Certainly he was deceptive by not showing me his whole medical history, doctors he was seeing, treatments that he might have been receiving." Murray answered.

"Did you really not know he had an addiction problem?" Guthrie asked.

"Absolutely not," said Murray. "Did not have a clue."

Murray was convicted Monday of involuntary manslaughter for supplying the insomnia-plagued Jackson with the powerful operating-room anesthetic propofol to help him sleep as he rehearsed for his big comeback.

During the interview, Murray was shown video of bottles of medications from other physicians arrayed on Jackson's bedside table, suggesting Murray's suspicions should have been raised.

"I cannot prevent Michael from seeing other doctors for whatever reason," the doctor said.

"You must have realized the reason he hired you was to give him this drug, propofol," Guthrie said.

"No, not at all," Murray replied. "I met Michael with propofol. This was not something I introduced to Michael."

Experts testified at Murray's trial that propofol should not have been administered in Jackson's home, but the doctor disagreed.

Murray revealed Jackson was under the influence of propofol during a recording found on the doctor's cell phone. Murray said the recording, in which the heavily drugged Jackson talked in a slurred voice about his goal of building a major children's hospital, was made by accident.

Murray, 58, described Jackson as "a desperate man, desperate" during his final hours.

Asked by Guthrie how it felt to be blamed for Jackson's death, he said, "I loved Michael too. I'm as much of a fan as any of the others. To be blamed for his death has not been an easy thing."

"Are you the cause of Michael Jackson's death?" Guthrie asked.

"No, I am not," Murray said.

The interview with the Houston cardiologist was being aired Thursday and Friday. Other excerpts were released Wednesday.

Under questioning by Guthrie, Murray said it was not necessary for him to monitor Jackson in the hours before he died because he had given the pop star only a small dose of propofol. The doctor said that was the reason he didn't mention to arriving paramedics that Jackson had been given the drug.

Guthrie asked, "Well, you told them about the other drugs, but you didn't tell them about propofol?"
"Because it had no effect," Murray said. "It was not an issue."

The coroner, however, found that Jackson, 50, died of acute propofol intoxication complicated by other sedatives.

During the trial, Murray's defense tried to show that Jackson gave himself an extra dose of propofol while Murray was out of the room, but prosecution experts said there was no evidence to support what one witness called the crazy theory.

Asked by Guthrie if he became distracted that morning by phone calls, emailing and text messages, Murray said, "No I was not."

"When I looked at a man who was all night deprived of sleep, who was desperate for sleep and finally is getting some sleep, am I gonna sit over him, sit around him, tug on his feet, do anything unusual to wake him up? No," Murray said.

"You walked out of the room to talk on the phone?" Guthrie asked.

"Absolutely, I wanted him to rest," Murray replied.

Other doctors testified at Murray's trial that leaving a patient alone after administering an anesthetic was an egregious deviation from the standard of care expected of a physician.

In one exchange during the interview, Murray suggested that if he had known Jackson had a problem with addiction to medications he might have acted differently. Experts, however, testified that Murray should have researched Jackson's medical history before he undertook his treatment for insomnia.

On the day Jackson died, June 25, 2009, Murray said he believed he had weaned the singer from propofol, the drug Jackson called his "milk."

But when Jackson could not sleep, Murray told "Today," he gave the entertainer a very small dose of propofol.

In retrospect, he said he probably should have walked away when Jackson asked for propofol. But he said he would have been abandoning a friend.

Murray's regret about Jackson's death

Meanwhile, the disclosure that MSNBC was airing a documentary about Murray brought outrage Wednesday from the executors of Jackson's estate, who said Murray is getting a prime-time platform to smear Jackson's reputation without fear of cross-examination.

The executors, John Branca and John McClain, demanded the program entitled "Michael Jackson and the Doctor: A Fatal Friendship" be cancelled. The network said it had no comment.Murray's regret about Jackson's death

The documentary was aired Thursday in Britain under the title, "The Man Who Killed Michael Jackson." It follows Murray over two years leading up to his conviction and includes interviews with the doctor and footage of his legal team preparing their case.

Murray is portrayed as a well-meaning doctor entrapped by Jackson in a situation he never anticipated
"I went there to take care of a healthy man, who said he was fine, to just keep surveillance in case my kids get sick or I get the flu, help us to choose right, better foods, and wash our hands so we don't get infected," Murray said. "But once I got in there I was entrapped."Murray's regret about Jackson's death

On Twitter, Jermaine Jackson branded the documentary "shameless."

Murray is being held in Los Angeles County Jail awaiting sentencing Nov. 29 and could face up to four years in prison and the loss of his medical license.Murray's regret about Jackson's death

Which celebrity fragrance is best?

Shine Get It Guide review: Top celebrity fragrances

Which celebrity fragrance is best? Shine Get It Guide review: Top celebrity fragrances

Which celebrity fragrance is best? We here at Shine pride ourselves on our fun and realistic approach to shopping, and that includes helpful product reviews by editors as well as our online community. That's why we're launching the Shine Get It Guide (GIG). We have enlisted a group of 10 Gurus to test out and review a group of popular searched items from one product category every few weeks.

1. Jennifer Aniston
Aniston's self-named fragrance was the overwhelming Get it Guide winner this week with 7 out of 10 Gurus selecting it as their favorite. They described it as "light," "clear," "airy," and "wearable," with many saying it's already become their daily go-to perfume.

Shelby Barone got right to the point: "If this is what Jennifer Aniston really smells like, it's no surprise why every guy in Hollywood wants to date her." Jodi Grundig agreed that wearing the scent "makes me feel like a more glamorous version of myself." Anne-Marie Nichols said she'd cop to wearing it "even though I'm Team Angelina and not Team Jennifer." Jennifer Aniston's perfume reminds Sahar Aker of a warm summer night. "I've even been wearing it to bed. Don't judge. It's cold here in Ohio and this fragrance makes me feel like it's summer again." But one Guru couldn't disagree more. Michelle Rivera found the fragrance underwhelming and said she "would wear it to bed with my husband on a night when I just want to go to sleep." Ha!

2. Beyonce Heat

Our GIG Gurus said Heat was an appropriate name, since it brought out their wild sides.

Shelby Barone said wearing it made her feel like "putting on some fish net stockings and dancing on the kitchen table." Sarah Lipoff said, "the minute I sprayed on some Heat I felt like my boring t-shirt and jeans had transformed into a stunning outfit and my hair was perfect." Ashley Laurel described it as "feminine with a little edge" while Katie Dillon said Heat could bring out some inappropriate behavior.

Who would wear it on a regular basis? Many suggested the obvious: "Single Ladies!" Jodi Grundig says it's perfect for "a hip, sexy, in-the-know friend who goes to all the best clubs." Michelle Rivera insists Heat "is perfect for any woman who wants to be noticed immediately upon entering a room (and the perfume scent will walk into the room before you do)." Anne-Marie Nichols would wear it for nights out and warned "this is not something you'd want to give to your teenage daughter or elderly mother-in-law." Tina Case agreed. "Let's just say I would not wear this to a PTA meeting. It's too overpowering. Heat evokes memories of my less-subtle days when I was single and looking to put a ring on it."

3. Justin Bieber — Someday

This scent made our GIG Gurus fondly recall their middle school days. "Innocent," "baby powder," "cupcakes," and "cotton candy" were used to describe the odor, while some found it too sweet.

Tina Case likened it to "a quick whiff of a girl's gym locker where multiple girls are spraying, slathering and rolling their scented deodorant after P.E." Sarah Lipoff said, "I felt like a schoolgirl wearing hot-pink lip-gloss that's madly in love with the quarterback. Yeah, that's cool in a way, but I'm a mid-30s-mama that's looking for a bit of sophistication in a scent."Shine Get It Guide review Top celebrity fragrances

But despite being marketed to teens, Anne-Marie Nichols felt Someday was too strong for young girls to wear. "My husband says Someday smells like 'cheap stripper perfume,' which unfortunately tells you more about him than I want you to know," she joked. Shelby Barone said she can envision ladies sneaking into their teenagers' bedroom to spray some on, but Sahar Aker wondered, "How could I keep a straight face if someone asked me what fragrance I was wearing?" Katie Dillon would admit to wearing it because all fragrance proceeds are donated to charity. "Justin Bieber chose Pencils of Promise and Make a Wish Foundation, which are causes I completely support."

4. Britney Spears Cosmic Radiance

"Floral," "vanilla," and "fruity" were the main adjectives used to describe Cosmic Radiance, and those notes resonated better with some ladies than others.

Clare Yeakel said "Cosmic Radiance makes me feel flirty and confident. This was a surprise as I didn't expect to like anything Britney, but I'll admit to enjoying this one! Note to self: Don't judge a celebrity fragrance by the celebrity." Anne-Marie Nichols agreed that "It's sophisticated, which I wouldn't expect from Britney" and felt it was reasonably priced. Jodi Grundig thought Cosmic Radiance smelled innocent and sweet. Katie Dillon thought it may be best reserved for adults saying that among the pretty floral notes "there's some sultry sass built-in too."
On the other hand, Sarah Lipoff found the scent to be offensive and Sahar Aker couldn't wait to wash the perfume off. Her biggest question: "What to do with this full bottle that I have. Leave it in a public bathroom for someone who might enjoy it? Toss it? Give it to Goodwill?" Shelby Barone wasn't a fan either, explaining that it "smells like the old ladies in my Grandmother's retirement home, after they have gotten all dressed up for a game of bingo." Yikes.Shine Get It Guide review Top celebrity fragrances

And on that note, we'll let you ponder the results of our Get it Guide survey. Have you tried any of these fragrances? Let us know which you enjoy or might be willing to buy.

Sergio Fusetti, the chief restorer of the basilica, said Giotto probably never wanted the image of the devil to be a main part of the fresco and may have painted it in among the clouds "to have a bit of fun."
The master may have painted it to spite someone he knew by portraying him as a devil in the painting, Fusetti said on the convent's website.

When is Eid al-Adha in 2014,2011,2013,2014,2015

Based on sightability in North America, in 2014 Eid al-Adha will start in North America a day later - on Sunday, the 5th of October.

Note that in the Muslim calander, a holiday begins on the sunset of the previous day, so observing Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Adha on the sunset of Friday, the 3rd of October.

Although Eid al-Adha is always on the same day of the Islamic calendar, the date on the Gregorian calendar varies from year to year, since the Gregorian calendar is a solar calendar and the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar. This difference means Eid al-Adha moves in the Gregorian calendar approximately 11 days every year. The date of Eid al-Adha may also vary from country to country depending on whether the moon has been sighted or not.
